Description

Delicious baked apple dumplings wrapped in crescent roll dough, served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into 8 wedges each
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 can (12 oz) lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll triangle and place seam side down in the prepared dish.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until combined (mixture will be grainy).
  4. Pour butter mixture evenly over the apple dumplings.
  5. Carefully pour the soda around (not over) the dumplings in the pan.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until dumplings are golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider using brown sugar instead of white sugar.
  • Serve with extra melted butter for drizzling, if desired.
