Description

Delicious homemade waffles perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1¾ cups milk
  • ½ cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until blended.
  4. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the eggs and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; the batter will be slightly lumpy.
  6. Lightly spray the waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray.
  7. Pour the recommended amount of batter into the center of the preheated waffle iron.
  8. Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crisp; most waffle makers will indicate when done.
  9. Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with remaining batter.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite toppings, or let them cool on a wire rack if you plan to freeze them.
