Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes (peeled and cut lengthwise)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Use a fry cutter to slice the sweet potatoes. Microwave the potatoes for 3-4 minutes to soften.
- Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a large bowl with cold water. Allow to soak for an hour.
- Remove the sweet potatoes from water and dry completely. Sprinkle cornstarch throughout.
- Sprinkle in paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place the fries in the air fryer basket and spray with olive oil. Do not overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Adjust the temperature to 380 degrees and cook for 23-25 minutes. Set a timer for 10 minutes and shake the basket at the 10-minute mark.
- Check for desired crispiness; cook longer if needed.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Using a fry cutter helps provide more evenly shaped fries which assists with even cooking time.
- If you see white spots of cornstarch on the fries, spray those areas with olive oil.
