Description

These crispy air fryer sweet potato fries are easy to make and a delicious side dish!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes (peeled and cut lengthwise)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Use a fry cutter to slice the sweet potatoes. Microwave the potatoes for 3-4 minutes to soften.
  2. Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a large bowl with cold water. Allow to soak for an hour.
  3. Remove the sweet potatoes from water and dry completely. Sprinkle cornstarch throughout.
  4. Sprinkle in paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Place the fries in the air fryer basket and spray with olive oil. Do not overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Adjust the temperature to 380 degrees and cook for 23-25 minutes. Set a timer for 10 minutes and shake the basket at the 10-minute mark.
  7. Check for desired crispiness; cook longer if needed.
  8. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Using a fry cutter helps provide more evenly shaped fries which assists with even cooking time.
  • If you see white spots of cornstarch on the fries, spray those areas with olive oil.
